The Ways of the World

Sun, 01/08/2012 - 10:39AM by Winnie LaFrance 0 Comments - 1 Views

We as humans are temporary. Being here on this earth is temporary. According to Genesis, God knew us before we were born and will know us after we die. While we are here, naturally, we only go by what it is we see and where we are. And that's all well and good because we have certain responsiblities while we are here, but this is not all that matters. There is a bigger picture. Don't let the ways of the world control you to the point where your after life is affected.Try to learn what God wants for you, all of this can be found in the Bible. I'm not going to get too deep, that alone is just something to think about.

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."
Romans 12:2

Someone to Lean On

Mon, 01/02/2012 - 4:56PM by Winnie LaFrance 0 Comments - 3 Views

Let me start by saying HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! I for one could not wait for the new year! Mannnnnn 2011 was full of heartache, mistakes, and depression. Don't get me wrong, I had some wonderful times and made great friends, but this was all after the many storms that took place. I am very thankful that God brought me through it and brought me to where I am today! I'm surrounded by love, opportunity, and support! This year some big things are going to happen for me...

Now my blog today comes from another Bible verse I read:

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as you are doing." -Thessalonians 5:11

I know you know someone who needs some help! I know you know someone who is going through it! I know you know someone who needs an intervention because their life depends on it! What is stopping you from lending a hand? We've all had our down points so we know firsthand how good it feels to have someone set aside the time to encourage you and build you up! Be a friend! Sometimes that person doesn't want to hear it, but guess what? One day they'll thank you....one day they'll look back and say that you were right. It doesn't even have to be a friend or family member! It can be anyone! Why not? We come from different walks of life, but the truth is we are all the same. One Sunday in church I heard the pastor say don't laugh at a person who isn't doing well because you don't know how the rest of your life is going to turn out. THAT COULD BE YOU SOMEDAY! Sometimes we get too high up on our horse that we don't think about that. You've got this $ and that object and they don't, but just as they lost things you can lose them too. So that is all I want to share with you today.

Be blessed

-Amen

Standing in Truth

Wed, 12/28/2011 - 12:51PM by Winnie LaFrance 0 Comments - 3 Views

Are you standing in truth? In life there are so many people feeding us lies! Like politicians, our employers, our family, and friends etc. In most cases they are “white lies” that are deemed insignificant or even polite to avoid confrontation and discomfort. The truth hurts some times, but the truth is a freeing gift that will be appreciated in the long-run. We even lie to ourselves! Assuring ourselves that something is alright when we KNOW it’s wrong. Letting things slide when we need to address them. We’re robbing ourselves of true happiness and freedom. Can you really be happy living a lie? Maybe temporarily…How can we be free if we are being held back by falsehood? It’s like internal imprisonment. I have come up with a motto for 2012 and I am going to do my absolute best to live by it:

Standing in TRUTH= True Happiness and True Freedom

I’ve realized that I am a people pleaser; I lie to some people just to get them to smile and feel better. Guilty. It actually bothers me because they are not hearing the message they need. I’m condoning ill behaviors! I am saying its okay! This is stopping and I encourage others to also stand in truth. Take a moment to think about your faults and admit them. Then take that honest moment you had with yourself and figure out how to make it right.

John 8:32

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

-Amen
